BUILDING BRAND IDENTITY

I am Donika Mishineva, a book cover artist and web designer with 18 years of cross-disciplinary design experience. I partner with independent authors and publishers to bridge the gap between their creativity and the business of publishing, creating visual identities that make your books look polished and ready to captivate the right readers.
Professional Background in Book Publishing Design
Why I dedicate my work to independent authors?
I believe that art elevates the human soul and creativity makes us truly whole. Literature cultivates critical thinking, introduces diverse perspectives, and constantly expands the boundaries of our imagination. That is why I chose to dedicate my work to supporting the creators who pursue these higher ideals.
My focus is to partner with authors who strive to bring meaningful content and lasting beauty into the world, providing them with the visual foundation their stories require to reach a wider audience.

Bridging the Gap Between Aesthetics and Market Strategy

Writing a book requires deep imagination and many years to hone your skills, but selling it requires a strategic, market-ready identity. Evolving from a background in corporate visual communications, my approach treats your book not just as art, but as a competitive product.
Working with independent creators means I take on the heavy lifting of visual positioning. You provide the narrative, and I provide the strategic creative direction, and author branding - everything designed specifically to capture and retain your readership.
In this setup, each element has a strict function. The cover acts as the hook, designed to interrupt scrolling and capture immediate market attention.

Collaboration Over Mass Production
I approach book design and author branding as a craft, not a factory process.
To maintain this standard, I only take on a few projects at a time. This guarantees that your story and your author brand aren't just another task on a list, but a priority.
Our collaboration will be straightforward and transparent. We move from the initial concept to the final print files through a highly organized framework, ensuring clear communication and zero stress at every stage.
You are securing a partner dedicated to getting your visual identity right, without the rush of an assembly line.

The Book as a Physical Artifact
I have always valued the raw, authentic spirit of traditional book illustrations. Naturally, modern technology is indispensable—digital tools streamline the commercial workflow by allowing for the rapid and precise revisions that client commissions strictly require, avoiding the rigid limitations of physical paper.

In Development: Fantasy World-Building Maps & Digital Ink Illustration
To provide authors with a complete suite of visual assets, I am currently expanding my services to include custom world-building maps and black-and-white fantasy illustrations. My goal is to replicate the authentic look of classic ink art within a highly efficient digital workflow.
I am currently developing the flagship case studies for this new portfolio. Once this foundation is complete, I will open a limited Pilot Program offering introductory pricing to early collaborators.
Sign up below to receive an email notification the moment the Pilot Program officially opens for commissions.
